Reading about you in the papers is a wonderful way for your colleagues, friends, and relatives to learn that you are included among the world’s most accomplished people.

To prepare your press release for mailing:
|
|
|
1. Compile a list of your local newspapers and magazines.
|
|
|
2. Address your envelopes to the managing editor or local news editor.
|
|
|
3. Retype the sample press release on your own letterhead and fill in your city, your state, date of mailing, and your name where indicated in the parentheses ( ). Also fill in the year, name of the publication in which your biography was published, and the month it will be published.
|
|
|
4. Make copies of the press release, fold, insert into envelopes, affix with postage, and mail.
|
|
|
Note: Sometimes newspapers will also publish your photo. Feel free to include one with each press release, if you desire. Black-and-white is usually preferred.
