"This special book contains biographical profiles for the individuals who had the most lasting impact on America during the 20th century," said Randy Mysel, vice president and publisher of Marquis Who's Who, based in New Providence, N.J. "Of the individuals in this unique volume, roughly 95 percent are Americans, such as Theodore Roosevelt and Bill Gates. While the vast majority of people included in Who's Who in 20th Century America had a profound, lasting and positive impact on America in the 1900s, a few were included whose influence might not be perceived by all readers to be entirely positive. People such as Senator Joseph McCarthy and union leader Jimmy Hoffa, for example, are profiled in order to comprehensively chronicle the people who shaped the 20th century in America.

|
For more than 100 years, Marquis Who's Who has published biographies of our nation's highest achievers and contributors, including men and women from business, entertainment, politics, medicine, law and academia.
